This is TALK OF THE NATION/SCIENCE FRIDAY. I'm Ira Flatow.
Many of us know someone with Alzheimer's disease; perhaps a parent,
relative or friend. And we're all too familiar with the slow slide
into confusion and the debilitating forgetfulness the disease can
bring. And while there have been many scientific studies that give
a glimpse into the workings of the disease, many of those studies
have served mainly to point out just how much there is left to discover.
