Clashes mark hartal over division in Rangpur, THE INDEPENDENT

RANGPUR, July 2: At least 50 people, including State Minister for
Forest and Environment HN Ashiqur Rahman, were injured in sporadic clashes
between the activists of Awami League and supporters of Rangpur Division
Implementation Committee (RDIC) during the half-day hartal at district
headquarters today.
The RDIC enforced the hartal in the district as Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina did not declare Rangpur a division in a public meeting here on Sunday.
