Brahman cattle farm project a `remarkable success story'

DUNGUN, Mon. - The country's first Brahman cattle farm at the
Veterinary Department's Genetic Farm in Bukit Merah has achieved remarkable
success with the birth of 102 cattle by artificial insemination.

The farm, covering 1,716ha, of which 516ha have been developed as the
grazing areas for the Brahman cattle, is also expected to become a successful
model of an integrated farm where the fast growing sentang trees are also
grown.

A total of 97,000 sentang trees would be planted in stages to provide
shade for the cattle as well as timber when the trees reached ...
