TAS: Fear and loathing on the thylacine trail

An unseemly international scientific dispute and turf war has broken out over plans
to finally prove whether the thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, is extinct.

The crux of the row is whether animal droppings, that just might include thylacine's,
should be allowed out of Tasmania.

BOB EELES, director of the British Biodiversity Trust, wants to gather carnivore scats
and take them back to England to determine through DNA testing whether any are thylacine.

He planned to take scats held by Launceston's Queen ...
