Fed: Shifting global economic conditions affect arrival figures

BRISBANE, June 21 AAP - Shifting global economic conditions were behind last month's
sluggish short-term overseas arrival figures, tourism industry leaders said today.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics overseas arrivals survey released today found the
number of short-term visitors to Australia in May rose by 2.7 per cent over the same month
last year.
