Qld: Australian scramjet set to go despite US loss

BRISBANE, June 3 AAP - The loss of an American prototype scramjet on its first experimental
flight was "just one of those things", the leader of a similar Australian project, Allan
Paull, said today.

Dr Paull and his team plan to launch an Australian version of the scramjet from Woomera
in South Australia on August 13.

"It's a setback, but it's certainly not the death knell of the project," he said after
seeing television news footage of the failed American maiden flight of the revolutionary
rocket.
