Fed: Human cloning to be discussed at COAG

BRISBANE, May 31 AAP - Australia is poised to follow other countries in banning human
cloning, with Prime Minister John Howard confirming the issue will be considered at the
next Council of Australian Governments (COAG) meeting.

Prime Minister John Howard has written to all premiers alerting them that the issue
of assisted reproductive technology, including cloning, was a late addition to the COAG
agenda for the June 8 meeting in Canberra.
