Maquiladoras Prop Up Mexican Trade Balance
MEXICO CITY, May 25, 2001 (Reforma/Infolatina via COMTEX) -- The share of total Mexican exports accounted for by the country's assembly-for-export companies (maquiladoras) rose during the first three months of the year, to 48.2 percent, from 45.5 percent in the year-ago period, according to data released by the Banco de Mexico and government statistics agency INEGI.
