OLYMPIA -- The Washington Senate, hoping to trim months or even years from the time it takes to complete road projects, on Tuesday approved legislation to streamline the environmental permit process.
The measure, adopted 39 -3 after weeks of negotiations, is considered a key element of the transportation package now before the Legislature.
Senate Transportation Chairwoman Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island, said the permit streamlining is just one of 10 bills the Senate has approved to show that the state is serious about ...
