Fed: Fed govt signals ban on chrysotile asbestos
The federal government says it'll seek government and industry support to ban the use
and importation of chrysotile asbestos by the end of 2003.
The hazardous material, also known as white asbestos, is largely used in the manufacture
of vehicles, and has long been the subject of union campaigns to have it banned.
