Fed: Democrats happy with beer reaction

CANBERRA, April 5 AAP - The federal government's cut in beer excise had tremendous
potential to do good for the community, the Australian Democrats said today.

A middy will cost between 10 and 15 cents less after the Democrats forced the government
to cut the excise to honour its 1998 election promise that the price of beer would rise
by only 1.9 per cent ...
