TOTOWA -- Jack Masklee, the former Republican mayor who oversaw construction
of the borough's community center and Veterans Field, died Tuesday. He
was 75.

Mr. Masklee, a lifelong resident of Totowa, was appointed mayor in
1991 after the death of Samuel Cherba, who had held the post for 30
