Mexico's Assembly-For-Export Firms See Cutting Workforce
MEXICO CITY, Feb 23, 2001 (Reforma/Infolatina via COMTEX) -- Mexico's assembly-for-export companies (maquiladoras) during the first quarter of the current year will fire 10,000 to 20,000 workers due to a slump in orders from the United States, National Assembly-For-Export Industry Council (CNIME) President Rolando Gonzalez Barron predicted.
