Vic: Lost Dogs Home to campaign against pit bull terriers

MELBOURNE, Feb 21 AAP - An animal shelter will urge the Victorian government to outlaw
pit bull terriers for fears they are "silent assassins" and attract irresponsible owners.

Lost Dogs' Home managing director Dr Graeme Smith will meet with Agriculture Minister
Keith Hamilton to persuade the government to outlaw the breed, introduce pet owner licences
and toughen fines for irresponsible owners.

"This is the only way to protect pit bull terriers," Dr Smith told AAP.
