Marginalization of the trade union movement

Trade Union power is on the wane in most parts of the world. Unions have lost their clout in Western Europe, barring some Scandinavian countries. In Britain, the Labour Party, which had its roots in the trade union movement, has shaken itself loose from the grip of union leaders, who have been effectively sidelined by new Prime Minister Tony Blair.
