GEORGETOWN, Sep. 20 (IPS) -- The plan is simple: go deep into
the rainforest, fell a huge 120-year Gommier tree, drag it to the
coast, use it to build a canoe, pack the canoe with Caribs and
sail it from the Eastern Caribbean island of Dominica 3,000
kilometers north to Belize.
A group of brave Caribs from Dominica, eager to make contact
with distant Central American relatives and to recapture lost
survival skills, is planning the ambitious trip in early 2002. It
