Corporate optimistic, predicting faster growth.
Major apex chambers welcomed the budget, which they hoped would nudge the economy to faster growth.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) said the budget was growth-oriented, adding: "It is investor-friendly, progressive and forward-looking. It does not have a parallel in the recent past."
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said the budget reflected the courage, pragmatism, ambition and decisiveness of Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram.
