A few years ago, someone thought up the idea of distributing free headgear to advertise this newspaper and, as a result, I have a Jerusalem Post baseball cap that makes me look like the Pizza Delivery Boy from Hell.

This particular promotional gimmick is in fact rather old hat for it was first dreamed up in 1920 by Alfred Harmsworth, the pioneer of popular journalism, who had launched his career with the appropriately-titled Comic Cuts.
