Pact With Parliamentary Union Hailed.

India, with other countries, has welcomed an agreement between U.N. and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The agreement, signed in July, formalized a cooperative relationship, facilitating complementary activities and the initiation of joint projects.

Under it, the U.N. recognized the role of the IPU in promoting peace and international cooperation. The IPU recognized the district responsibilities of the U.N. and pledged its support for the organization's goals.
