Aths: Loner Howarth a man on a 1500 metre mission

ADELAIDE, Aug 23 AAP - Australia's 1500m villain Nick Howarth is a loner more used
to crunching numbers as an acclaimed economist than opposition runners.

Built like the proverbial wafer and prematurely balding at age 24, Howarth appears
to perfectly fit the mould as a mild-mannered economist.

He winds down from his job at the Department of Finance and Administration by playing
the cello and reading.
