WASHINGTON (Army News Service, June 12, 2000) -- Two World War
II
veterans, Bill Endicott and Eugene Poynter, are making a cross-country
trip to celebrate the Army's 225th birthday and to raise awareness
for
a new Army museum.
Travelling in a vintage Army jeep from the Korean War, these
veterans
of the 33rd Infantry plan to leave from an Army birthday celebration
at
Fort Lewis, Wash., and hope to arrive in Washington, D.C., about two
weeks
later at the future site of the World War II memorial.
