Mr. Chairman and Members of the Committee: It is an honor for me to
appear
before you today and I am grateful that you have given me this opportunity
to express my thoughts. Let me say from the outset--as a father of
two
daughters and a film producer, increasingly concerned about violence
on
television--that I am a passionate life-long supporter of public television
and its unique role in helping to stitch our exquisite, diverse, and
