Ashcroft: Congress Must End

Tax Penalty on Marriage Now Senators Wants Action in New Tax Relief Bill

WASHINGTON-Twenty-one million American married couples would save an average of $1,400 per car under a tax relief plan announced today by Senators John Ashcroft, Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX), and Sam Brownback (KS). In a joint news conference, the legislators said eliminating the oppressive " marriage tax penalty" should be the Number One priority when Congress carries out budget plans to reduce taxes.
