FORT HOOD, Texas, (Army News Service, Feb. 11, 1999) -- The Army chief of staff, the Army surgeon general and the III Corps and Fort Hood commander were among the dignitaries on hand Feb. 5 for the official grand opening of the military's newest Fisher House at Fort Hood.

The Fort Hood Fisher House, which provides temporary lodging for the family members of ill or seriously injured patients at Darnall Army Community Hospital, is the 25th such facility donated to the military since 1990 by Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher of New York.
