I appreciate the invitation to appear before you and submit my views regarding the renewal of the independent counsel law.

From December, 1986 until January, 1993 I served as independent counsel for the Iran/contra matter. My active investigation was completed in February, 1992. My report was submitted August 7, 1992 but ...
