Fort Leonard Wood -- The Fastest Growing Post in the Army

Fort Leonard Wood, located in Pulaski County, the southeastern part of the Fourth Congressional District, has been the Army's horns for training soldiers since January 1941. As the Army grow prior to World War II, the War Department chose Missouri as the location for its Engineer Replacement Training Center and plans were made to construct facilities on 63, 000 acres in the Ozarks.
