SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (AFNS) -- Air Mobility Command's Inspector General's
office recently completed a 17,000-mile trip to Asia to assess the readiness
of AMC's en route units in Japan and Okinawa.

This inspection is a product of the command's 1997 "Year of the En Route,"
which focused AMC on the needs of the units and highlighted their contributions
to the global mission of AMC.
