BOB EDWARDS, HOST: The impeachment of Bill Clinton is only the second presidential impeachment by the House of Representatives. In 1868, the House impeached the 17th president, Tennessean Andrew Johnson. He later was acquitted by the Senate.

NPR's John Burnett recounts the impeachment and trial of Andrew Johnson.
