Long-time leader of the Khmer Rouge, Ieng Sary, may rise above his criminal status in Cambodia by running for office. The Cambodian government is eyeing the Khmer Rouge's long-held gem and timber resources.

BOB EDWARDS, Host: Cambodia's Khmer Rouge guerrillas are facing their worst internal split in two decades. Last week, two senior commanders and hundreds of their soldiers broke away from the group, effectively transferring two key parts of the country to government control.
