Some 10,000 tourists visit the Taj Mahal each day to see the spectacular memorial built by Shah Jahan 350 years ago, but the tourism may be taking its toll, together with pollution.

SCOTT SIMON, Host: When Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of his wife 350 years ago, it was immediately considered a marvel. The white-marbled Taj, inlaid with millions of semi-precious stones, continues to amaze as many as 10,000 visitors a day.
