Imported Food One of Biggest Dangers Facing Food Supply

BOB EDWARDS, Host: Food imports to the United States have tripled in the past 15 years and make up a large share of the food we eat. Nearly 60 perfect of all seafood eaten here is from foreign countries, as is almost half of all produce consumed in the winter. The increase in imported food has created a lot more work and worries for federal regulators who try to make sure imported food is safe. NPR's Laura Knoy reports on how the government tries to do that, and how the system could change.
