ROBERT SIEGEL, Host: Agnes De Mille, who died today at age 88, was a dancer and choreographer, whose creations for the musical Oklahoma! were a landmark in American musical theater. She began her career in ballet and modern dance, and in 1942 created the ballet Rodeo, with music by Aaron Copland. On Broadway, she choreographed a number of musicals, including Brigadoon, Carousel, Paint Your Wagon, but most notably Oklahoma!, written by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers. It opened in 1943.
