JACKI LYDEN, Host: 83-year-old Alan Hovhaness is one of this country' s most prolific composers, having more than 400 widely performed works in his catalogue, yet Hovhaness has always been overshadowed by bigger names like Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. This may, at last, be changing. New recordings of his music by the Seattle Symphony have sparked popular and critical enthusiasm.
