Ethiopia Launches Eritrea Offensive

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (AP) -- Hours after Eritrea accepted a regional peace plan and agreed to a cease-fire, Ethiopian troops stormed Eritrean military positions Saturday on all three fronts along their disputed border.

Ethiopian government spokeswoman Selome Tadesse called the fresh assault an answer to Eritrean military ``provocations.'' Eritrea called Ethiopia's actions tantamount to rejecting the peace deal in the two-year war between the Horn of Africa neighbors.
