NSW: Sydney s water under threat by degraded catchments: report
SYDNEY, Jan 4 AAP - Pollution, grazing animals and development are threatening the
quality of Sydney's water supply, a report revealed today.
Prepared following the contamination of Sydney's water supply in 1998, the report found
many catchments supplying water to dams were under such high levels of stress their ability
to remove toxins was "seriously compromised".
The report rated catchments within the Sydney basin as "moderately good", but failing
to meet the criteria of the good or ...
