NSW: Over 2,600 speeding offences in 24 hours

SYDNEY, Dec 25 AAP - New South Wales police charged more than 2,600 motorists for speeding
on Christmas Eve, catching almost 800 more than in the same time last year.

The first day of Operation Safe Arrival, December 24, saw 38 people injured in car
accidents, 153 crashes, 2,621 speeding offences and 101 drink-driving charges, police
said.
