HONG Kong and Hollywood film star Chow Yun-fat has appealed to the Royal
family to allow ''Anna and the King'', a film in which he plays King Mongkut,
to be screened in Thailand, a published report said yesterday.

The South China Morning Post reported that Chow had said every effort
had been made to make the film historically authentic and he had spent
months mastering the Thai language.

Chow, according to the report, said his Thai was much improved, but he
admitted: ''I probably mispronounce many words.''A superstar in Hong Kong
