NSW: Catholic priest did not reveal Marsden friendship

SYDNEY, Nov 25 AAP - A Catholic priest today said he did not reveal his long friendship
with alleged paedophile John Marsden because it would have jeopardised his relationship
with parishioners.

Giving evidence in the New South Wales Supreme Court, Father Peter Confeggi said that
after a Channel 7 program claimed Mr Marsden had sex with 15-year-old boys, a parishioner
asked if he knew him.

"I said I knew his family," he said.
