Dick's Picks: Jazz Festival Has Something for Everyone

The annual Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, held last week on the University of Idaho campus, meant different things to different people. For many in the audience, it was their one opportunity in the year to hear and see some of the world's finest in person.

For the performers, it was an opportunity to catch up with each other. At an after party, I sat at a table next to one where signers Lou Rawls, Ernie Andrews and Freddie Cole were talking.
