Choctaw grave desecration continues.

The desecration of Choctaw graves is a common occurrence in southeastem Oklahoma. Places of final rest for many of our ancestors sit in shambles within the 10 1/2 counties comprising the Choctaw Nation.

In some instances omate headstones are removed so that cattle won't trip over them. In other cases entire cemeteries are destroyed in land-clearing projects.
