Ancient Remains Found in Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (AP) -- Workmen building a new village to replace one destroyed by Hurricane Mitch have discovered significant remains of an ancient Indian culture, officials said Wednesday.

``The site was inhabited by a pre-hispanic culture which has not yet been identified,'' said Gilberto Sanchez, the national attorney for Indian and cultural affairs.

``We found a main plaza, around which there are remains of various types of ancient ceramics,'' said Sanchez, who headed an investigation ...
