Lahore trip compared to fall of `Berlin Wall'

When the bus carrying Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee crossed the Radcliffe line into Pakistan, that brief, historic moment was watched by millions across the country.

For once, cricket took a back seat and people gathered in front of their television sets to witness history being created at the Wagah outpost on the India-Pakistan border. The excitement generated by Vajpayee's Lahore visit was most palpable in the Muslim-dominated Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and Turkman Gate areas of Old Delhi.
