THE RABBI'S TURN: Israel faces a raging sea.

Legends relate, before the miracle of the splitting of the Red Sea, the Jews broke into four groups, each with a different plan. The tribes of Reuben, Simeon and Issachar argued that it would be better to jump into the sea, rather than fall into the hands of the Egyptians. They reasoned it would be better to leap into the raging sea and sanctify HaShem than to fall into the hands of those who wanted to destroy them with no mercy.
