DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 16 (AIA/GIN) -- Tanzania's business
community expressed relief and approval at the postponement of an
agreement to turn Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda into a single market.
Some business leaders hosted parties in praise of the decision,
which is viewed as salvation for the tattered Tanzanian economy.
The presidents of the three countries were scheduled to sign the
East African Community (EAC) Treaty on July 30 but the event was
postponed until October because, it was said, the treaty-making
process had not been completed.
