New film follows story of Wounded Knee from 1890 to 1990.

PINE RIDGE -- The true story of the Wounded Knee Massacre has been told before on film. But there's a new film that merges historical accounts of the massacre with footage of the 1989 Lakota memorial ride that honored those who died along 250 miles of frozen Dakota trails and at Wounded Knee Creek in December 1890.

"Ride to Wounded Knee" will open Sept. 7 in Bismarck, N.D. and is scheduled for theatrical screenings in South Dakota in the fall.
