Central Park Reservoir To Be Named For Jackie Onassis.

A Lake Jacqueline in the heart of Central Park? (As in Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, of course.)

It could come to pass as early as this fall, as city officials move to rename the old, graceful reservoir there in her honor.

"It is a very quiet, beautiful place, just like she was," Council Speaker Peter Vallone said Friday.

He and Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, through their staffs, approached John Kennedy Jr. with a list of ways the city could pay tribute to his mother. He liked best the idea of naming ...
