Memorial plaque unveiled at site of first internment camp in Canada.

KINGSTON, Ontario -- The quest for redress for Canadians of Ukrainian origin who were interned during World War I has taken its first concrete step. A plaque commemorating the internees was unveiled here on August 4 at Fort Henry, a historic installation dating back to the 18th century and the site of the first internment camp set up in Canada by Prime Minister Robert Borden's Conservative government.
