Whatever happened to radon?

No doubt it remains as odorless, colorless, and naturally occurring
as ever, but we don't worry about it anymore, do we?

It has joined the ranks of strontium 90, alar, pit bulls,
cyclamates, and lead paint as topics we've crossed off our worry list.
(Some with justification, others with none.)
