RIVER WARNING SYSTEM URGED -- THREE FISHERMEN STRANDED BY CURRENT

Thousands of gallons of water released without warning from a
spillway into the Pequannock River in Bloomingdale caught three
fishermen by surprise on the first day of trout season, leaving the
anglers stranded in the fast current.

Although the men were uninjured, they had to be pulled out of the
river by emergency response crews.
