The Foundation Of Our Speech Practices Has Many Sources.

In our daily lives, we encounter and enact varied types of speech acts: there are moral speech acts: "Abortions are morally wrong;" there are simple empirical speech acts: "This apple is red;" there are complex scientific speech acts: "A black hole exists in the Crab nebula;" there are aesthetic speech acts: "Horace Pippin's art work represents the sublimity of everydayness;" and, there are political speech acts: "Working men of all countries, unite!"
